Many of us (with different makes of computer) had the problem right after new installation or updates and since mine also started charging again immediately after an update/shut down. My ASUS battery light now shows solid red which means it is charging however when I hit the icon for battery, it shows 90% and tells me it will be fully charged in 11 min.
